WHEN THERE'S NOTHING LEFT BUT YOU

This is my personal site. UpSpiral is my company. Anything here that points you toward UpSpiral is me recommending my own work.

There will be days
when the world offers you
no evidence
that what you want is possible.

When the doors remain closed,
the answers don't come,
and even hope
seems to have gone quiet.

And still,
something in you remains.

Not the part that knows what to do.
Not the part that can promise
everything will work out.

Something deeper.

The You
that was here before the fear,
before the disappointment,
before you learned
to measure your worth
by what the world gave back.

And maybe this is
what true devotion means.

Not forcing your way
through every closed door.
Not abandoning yourself
in the name of a dream.
But refusing to abandon
the dreamer.

Turning toward the frightened places
within you,
taking them by the hand,
and saying,
We don't have to know how.
We only have to remember
that we're not finished.

Because sometimes
the greatest act of creation
isn't moving forward.
It's remaining open
when everything in you
has learned to close.

And trusting that life
is still moving through you,
even now.
